Reopening and Inauguration Restoration of Carcer Tullianum, the Prison of St. Peter, and the new multimedia museum

Wednesday,  July 13, 2016,  at 6 p.m., to mark the reopening of Carcer Tullianum, the St. Peter's Prison, will take place the inauguration of this important monument, which overlooks the beautiful setting of the Roman Forum . In the morning, at 12.00, is planned the press conference, at  the presence of the institutions .

The reopening of Carcer Tullianum, also known as Prison Mamertino , takes place at the end of the work of archaeological excavations and redevelopment that the ORP has launched in collaboration with the Superintendence for the Colosseum and the Central Archaeological Area of Rome, on the occasion of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy .

 

The Carcer Tullianum is returned to the public with its charming museum multimedia facility.
