The lands of the first evangelization, where Saint Paul taught the churches; the sites of the first Church Councils that define the faith of the Church. In Cappadocia we will admire the rocky panoramas and the rock-cut churches.

Departing flight from Rome to Istanbul. Arrival and check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Visit Topkapi palace, the residence of the Ottoman sultans. In the late afternoon, transfer to the airport in private coach and departing flight for İzmir. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Departure for Ephesus and guided tour of the ancient city where among other things we will see the Church of Mary where the Council of Ephesus took place in 431 A.D., in the southern stoa of the Olympieion. The Council of Ephesus defined the title of "Mary, Mother of God". Visit Meryemana where, according to an ancient tradition, the Virgin Mary lived with Saint John the Evangelist. Visit the Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist where his tomb can be found. Return to İzmir. Dinner and overnight.
Departure for Pergamon, the ancient city referred to in the Apocalypse as one of the seven churches of Asia Minor: visit to the acropolis. Continue to the sites of Thyatira and Hierapolis. Arrive in Pamukkale with its famous calcium pools. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Departure for Konya. Visit the Mevlana Museum which was the mausoleum of the Persian sufi mystic and founder of the Whirling Dervishes. Visit the church of Saint Paul. Continue to Cappadocia, a region where many christian communities flourished between the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Full day dedicated to visiting a number of beautiful sites: the Goreme valley which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Zelve, Kaymakli, Uçhisar, and the rock-cut churches in Aynali. Dinner and overnight.
Transfer in private coach to the airport of Kayseri and departing flight for Rome (via Istanbul).
